Too Faced Born This Way The Natural Nudes Complexion Inspired Eyeshadow Palette Review and Swatches

Too Faced has come out with a new eyeshadow palette, and we can’t wait to tell you about it! The Natural Nudes palette consists of 16 gorgeous, nude eyeshadows. 8 x 0.02 oz/ 0.5 g which encompass shimmers, metallics and sparkle shades, and 8 x 0.04 oz/ 1 g which are all matte shades. The gorgeous neutral, brown, and pinky shades, truly look promising as it seems that Too Faced wanted to create shades that flatter different complexions. In addition, just like the Born this Way Foundation from Too Faced this palette has coconut water, alpine rose and hyaluronic acid to give the skin some lovely benefits.

This palette is $45 USD (before tax) which works out to about $2.81 per shade. Considering the escalating prices of drugstore makeup, this palette comes at a fair price per eyeshadow. I found myself loving the matte eyeshadows, such as “Nude” and “Truffle” which are the perfect nudes; easy to blend, and great pigmentation. However some of the shimmer/sparkle shades were a bit of a struggle when it came to color payoff and longevity. For instance, “Shimmering Pearl” is a stunning soft coral/pink, but when applied it is a bit chunky, with big glitters that don’t seem to stay on the eyelid with a good eye primer. On a separate note I think that it was a fantastic idea to make the pan sizes for the mattes larger than the shimmers, as I find myself reaching for mattes more often. It also allows my brush to swirl the product nicely, without making a mess. Furthermore, I enjoy that beside each matte shade is a similar shimmer shade to compliment an eye look, it makes for a very intuitive match.

Final thoughts

Overall, I do enjoy this palette very much. I love how there is a beautiful and wide range of different textures and neutral shades. I am a big fan of the butter-like mattes and just how pigmented they are. For me personally, although I own so many different palettes with a variety of tones and textures, I typically go for a neutral/nude look for my day to day activities in the office. The wonderful thing about this palette is that you can create a simple, and quick look with using only a shade or two. Alternatively, you can glam up your eyeshadow look with a few of the stunning metallic shades. When it comes to Too Faced, I am always a big fan of the brand and what they will come out with next. If you enjoy every day soft tones, then this palette is for you.
