Pat McGrath Labs LUST: Mini MatteTrance Lipstick Trio in Skin Show Review

Pat McGrath Labs LUST: Mini MatteTrance Lipstick Trio in Skin Show Review

Pat McGrath has come out with 2 gorgeous matte mini lipstick trio sets, and they are just to die for! Encompassed in stunning gold soft plastic packaging, drizzled in gold sequins to match, these little jewels (that actually have a golden lip on each lipstick) are super pigmented and high in demand. The sets come with Pat’s best-selling shades. The first set entitled “Colour Blitz” comes with the colors obsessed!, full panic and elson. These are bound to appease anyone that leans toward the red and fuschia family. The second trio, “Skin Show” comes with the colors omi, 1995, and flesh 3. These are in the rose, nude and brown family.

These lipsticks are pigmented, creamy, hydrating, and glide on so easily on the lips. The matte finish is flawless, and they are definitely worth the hype and investment. It took me a few months to be able to buy these, as they kept selling out on the Sephora website.

Value This set retails for $25 USD, which is $8.33 USD per each lip stick. I was a little taken back when my order arrived, as to how cute, yet small the lipsticks were. Each lippie has 1.2g of product, which is not a lot- however considering that a full size of the Matte Trance is $38 USD and weighs 4g, this is a relatively great value to try out so many different color choices (not to mention the superb formula). Essentially 3 lipsticks amount to about the equivalent of 1 full size lipstick.

Pigmentation These lipsticks are ultra-pigmented and rich. During winter time my lips get very dry and I tend to stick to glosses. After trying this formula and seeing how easily it applied to my rather patchy lips, I recognized just how creamy and pigmented they are.

Blendability These blend out flawlessly, and are super easy to use. If you mess up on your lipstick application it is an easy fix, as they don’t dry down completely.

Longevity Although these are not transfer proof, they stay on the lips for a long time! I have been wearing my lipstick since the morning after eating a coffee, and having a salad at lunch with olive oil! I haven’t even had to re-apply!

Packaging I can’t think of nicer packaging for lipsticks. This is probably the most innovative, stunning and wonderful composition of a lipstick set I have yet to see.

Final thoughts:

At first I thought that the value wasn’t there, when I saw how small the lipsticks were, but after trying the shades and seeing their superior performance, I was hooked! Pat McGrath has done an incredible job with the formula, packaging and overall presentation of this set. I can see why there is continued high demand to get your hands on this product. For the price it is well worth to give this set a try. I will be trying to get my hands on the “Colour Blitz” just because I adore how well these lipsticks go on.
